Yo estuve en la Isla Amanatani, en el lago Titikaka..

Estaba en Perú, contraté la excursión la noche de antes por unos 60 soles (en abril de 2012) en el mismo hotel donde me alojaba en Puno, El Manzano, hotel pequeño, muy barato y con desayuno escaso, pero solo por la excursión valió la pena.
A la mañana siguiente una furgoneta con más gente me recogió y nos llevó al puerto, donde compré unos detalles como regalo para la familia que me iba a acoger esa noche.

Yo soy española, y la mayoría de mi grupo eran de habla inglesa, así que todo el tour fue en inglés, aunque de muy fácil comprensión , y sobretodo teniendo en cuenta mi ventaja a la hora de conversar con los habitantes de la isla.

Cuando llegas a la isla Amantani el guía con el presidente de la comunidad nos asignan una familia. Los Amantani se organizan muy bien, pues se dividen en comunidades y así alojan a turistas una vez cada dos meses. Digamos que hacen rotaciones.
A mi me tocó con Alfonso, el alcalde de la comunidad, y su mujer, Benita. Tenían 45 años y parecían mucho mayores, sobretodo por el sol que a esa altura pega muy fuerte.
Caminé detrás de Benita, al principio en silencio.. Legamos a la casa, me sorprendió que tuviera dos plantas, era muy humilde, pero tenía unas vistas preciosas..

El guía nos dijo que para desayunar habría panqueques. Después de comer y cenar quinoa, los esperaba con ansia. Son como las tortitas, había café y mermelada. Terminado el desayuno me lavé los dientes con mi cantimplora, no había agua en el lavado y me despedí.
Benita me acompañó al embarcadero, allí nos hicimos una foto de familia. Nuestro guía nos reunió al grupo con nuestras familias, y dijo unas bonitas palabras.

Me gustó mucho la experiencia y nuestro guía tuvo mucho que ver en esto. Si visitas Puno, guarda dos días para hacer este tour, lleva ropa de abrigo, botas de montaña, linterna, tu cámara de fotos, y muchas ganas de preguntar y escuchar. Si te alojas en El Manzano, pregunta por el guía Yiscard para hacer el tour, yo fui en 2012, no se si todavía estará, pero por preguntar no pierdes nada.
